VIOLENCE is the way of life here

One need not be a real gunda or an anti socialist to do violence. Violence is everywhere.... inside this country inside our houses in this world everywhere. Violence in thought.... in the very words we speak and respond to people. The bus conductor is the phenomenal example of violent behaviour in our society..Getting into a bus in chennai is like getting into some prison where you have no choice but listen to the harsh language they use. No matter if you are the most educated guy around with a doctorate you listen to these guys " ULLA AARI  POYANNA  KEKA MATIYA ?? NEE UTLA SORU THAN THINGIRIYA ?? Then the next is about the change they don't return .

Next you go to the vegetable shop he says tomato is 10 buks a kg you ask him a second time and he showers all the words he knows.

You read some Tamil dailies the absolute destination for some real curry for your breakfast murder.rape, theft, accidents, child sex, kidnapping, drugs, .. so on and so on...Governments will change leaders will come and go the cycle of some activities will never change. There will be further deterioration of  law and order . there will not be any value for any thing I mean even for us human beings.I called up the Blue cross yesterday morning after I saw a dog struggling to get up after a accident maybe. they said they will send the vehicle I donna what happened after that they dint call me they took all my particulars.Several hundreds of people saw this stray dog lying on the road near nilgiris in alwarpet. I did not do anything great what others cant. THere is so much of violence in this society which we have to tolerate before we kick the bucket.

THE PRE-ELECTION PROMISES AND THE CHEATINGS THEREAFTER

ELECTION CAMPAIGNS ON A
LOUSY PITCH IN MANDAVELI

Most of the contenders in the areas were only raising their hands in VANAKKAM posture and never opened their mouths on the commitments promised through their meetings and media.Possibly because of their apprehension that they will fail and face the brunt of the public.Large scale underground distribution of cash is going on to the slum dwellers because all what they need is money and not good government, as long as their stomachs are full they really don't care who rules the country or the state.Even most of the "THONDARS' are uneven of mind and they shift floors as per the re-numerations at the end of the day.In fact these thondars of political parties wear different uniforms in a day and dance for different parties. You can never see the nominee candidate appearing in front of you with the VANAKKAM after they win the elections except the media.Their promises will go down the drain. The common man in Tamil Nadu will continue to stand in Q's in public toilets, ration shops, quarrel for change in PTC buses, sit in front of employment exchanges for days together keep paying exorbitant interests to Kandhu vaddi fellows. They will also have to bribe ayyahs and the family health center to inoculate children. The rich will keep exploiting the poor, beggars will be beggars political bastards will continue to squeeze the public through bloody scams in crores. You cast your vote for any dog the state will never change.

NOW VOTE AND GO AHEAD FOR THE GOVERNMENT YOU LOVE.

THE MANDAVELI TIMES: The morning glory

THE MANDAVELI TIMES: The morning glory

THE HILLS AND THE HEAT

I remember waking up to the soft sweet chirping of bulbuls, sparrows mynahs and quails. The hushing sound of the huge eucalyptus and pine trees, one could also hear the whoosh of the small mountain stream running down the tea bushes. Green meadows and astounding colors of daffodils ,roses and pansies were food to the soul.Inhaling the pollution free mountain fresh air gave us so much of energy ,not the type of energy we get today after downing vitamin tablets it was pure energy from natures oxygen. It was a more non-violent world there was harmony and rhythm between humans and the nature. There wasn't any mobile phones, ipods ,or laptops even the telephones were a bit rare. There were no refrigerators or fans.We didn't need air conditioners, fans or refrigerators there. The population was small and most of us in the town knew each other.
This place called Coonoor nests among the Nilgiri hills where the western and eastern ghats meet. What is said of it above is about thirty five years ago.My recent visit there was utterly disappointing. Though meeting old buddies and seeing my old school was good. The way how urbanization and pollution had ruined that wonderful town was simply mind boggling. The typical commercialism and violence of the modern society had not spared that place too. Everything was dear and people spoke without looking in the eye. If we strive we can stop this so called rapid urbanization. In the name of urbanization we keep razing down trees bulldoze hills construct mufti-storied buildings flatten almost anything just to compete and stay ahead of others. We hear news of animals intruding into villages and towns because we have destroyed their habitat. We have lost touch with nature and she is turning violent with newly named deluges like tsunami! there is no harmony with nature, only discord.I think the future generations will go to the zoos to see trees and plants like how we go to see wild animals today.
We are the world we are the children.I am no great robed bearded guru or political big head or business magnate I am a common man and this designation is enough to think to save the earth in whatever small way we can, plant trees or call up the blue cross to pick up an abandoned kitten.,,, in spite of our life down the fast lanes. I mean any tiny act which can help in the huge transformation and betterment of the earth we live. Give space and not destroy the habitat of animals, value and love this green earth else we will turn it red earth.

The morning glory

I am just back from a walk of about 5kms. Watching the sunrise on the horizon at the sea was really intriguing, an expereince far richer than any. Though its summer there were quite a number of clouds out there dark and neatly formed some of them were flat at the bottom and had various shapes on the upper, they all had a mixture of brown, white, gray and black..This place near mandaveli in chennai is called foreshore estate. The furious heat of the sun would start in a couple of hours melting the tar roads and spurting the dangerous uv rays. The sun was a crimson golden color the water in the sea shimmered, the waves were a pure white as they hit the shore. About ten ships of various sizes were anchored about 2 to 3 kms away. One of them was quite huge and brown in color probably carrying some sort of an oil. to the continent.

Inhaling the fresh air was rejuvenating though with a little aroma of fish and sea water. Walking back the road I came, the hustle and bustle of modern day was already there ...the huge college buses honking with students , a loudspeaker near the mandaveli signal chanting of some slokas, dust and mud settled on the leaves of the few leftover roadside trees.

No help sometimes

Do whatsoever any effort in any direction to solve a problem it does not happen. We sleep with the problem in our head thinking and re-thinking, think so much even the dreams are filled with this non-sensical problem.A time to act, a time to see, almost everything has a time to happen it appears.Very much undecided by us. Man proposes god safely or unsafely disposes(He doesnt care what happens rather).

Of Dog slaughter and Loving mongrels

Of dog slauhgter and stray dog menace.
One may not find dogs in Nagaland one of the seven sisters of the north east states there is no stray dog menace. When problems are galore out here about safeguarding pets and animal activist supporters like blue cross, in one part of our country people still eat them. I (Many of us who have been there) have practically seen them eating dog meat. Ok leave alone eating dog meat killing them in a ghastly manner is even worse. They have a festival out there at Nagaland then dogs are tied to posts for ten days without food, on the tenth day they are fed with rice unlimited. Beleive it or not then the dogs are tied upside down and fried they relish on the rice from the dogs stomach. Murder most gruesome just to kill human appetite. They also eat earth worms and crickets that's all I know no further.
I am no animal rights activist its all baffling to me as to you. As said in my previous issue preaching peace cannot possibly bring peace as long we are gruesome and aggressive in our acts.

Evolution

There is no compromise with nature whatsoever. Millenium of years of evolution. If you can agree, the system of growth of a plant rather cannot be changed. The flowering the maturity and eventually the death of a tree. It can never be changed. Its the order of nature mostly and no human is powerful to change this order. The growth of the seed the plant the flowering and how the fruits are borne. Spend a few minutes. Same is true with us and all creatures of life. We can send unmanned space crafts to other planets of the universe. We can't probably change this order of the universe. If one can understand this.
Most of the upanishads teachings and truth of existentialism are totally this. We are all engrossed in this unwarranted thoughts and efforts of bringing about this change.Nature will not change. Its the flow of the life force.

Violence as a way of Life

Nowadays Violence is everywhere in the movies in the serials in the news in our daily lives.Violence in some form or the other. How many ever laws we have to punish the bad,It is always there. It almost seems its become some order of the day.A movie with some violent killing scenes gains momentum.Brutality of killing and creating societal violence.Violence against children & women for gain of money and power. Our Father of the nation practised non violence for attainment of liberation and peace. He propogated non violence or Ahimsa.Ahimsa is not restrainment from attacking someone we hate in turn its the practice of peace in our thinking. The thought should be non-violent.

Hill breeze and the chirping of birds

I remember waking up to the soft sweet chirping of bulbuls, sparrows mynahs and quails. The hushing sound of the huge eucalyptus and pine trees, one could also hear the whoosh of the small mountain stream running down the tea bushes. Meditation

Thanks indeed the response was quick and the reach I know is phenomenal. Our initial issues have garnered strength and confidence to what we are doing maybe not business something more enduring than business and money!
As this (our) business of life.. gets busier hectic and highly stressful truly most of us are in search of some tranquility. This tranquility is never in the external. Its very much within us within the realms of our thought process. Most of the so called yogis and masters named it meditation. Its truly something extra ordinary I mean extra ordinary. It takes us to some heights of absolute freedom and serenity. A place of happiness, solitude and clarity. Meditation is not the chanting of some name of a god we know it is the repetition of the thought of some action which either persists or will prevail. It is the concentration of the thinking process and the energy of thinking towards a single idea. We dont need to go to the so called huge organizations and associations which make huge money in the name of getting you peace and solidarity of mind. They only accrue rolls royces and ranches and acres of lands from poor farmers. Peace and serenity or not something you can buy maybe someone has a lot of money to buy it, but only end up paying cash or by credit card with no apparent expected results.
Within me is the peace happiness and serenity I am well today and saw a fantastic orange sun rise with all its glimmer and exuberance. I also saw a squirrel on a terrace busy chirping with its tail raising everytime it chirped. There is so much of pleasure in nature it gives us extensive peace. Its easy to derive pleasure from simple things.

Leading Energy

"I've come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that's as unique as a fingerprint - and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard, and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you"
I read it some years back in a paper on a sleepy summer afternoon train journey. The words invoked my spirit it impressed me so much that i got back and I applied new thoughts and methods to what I was doing ,and it worked I found change.., change for betterment.Let me share, this small newspaper is also one of the results! No matter who said it there is stuff in it. I am immensely thankful to each and everyone who has been of help directly or indirectly to bring out the first issue of this weekly newspaper. I wish and am working so that this tabloid would be of use to the residents of Alwarpet RA Puram Mandaveli Mylapore MRC Nagar Santhome and adjoining areas and ofcourse whoever uses or reads it for small and big business. Readers are welcome to voice your views about issues events programs by post/email. We at Mandaveli Times shall endeavour our best to improve and pay special attention to the quality and quantity of content.
